Program Description

Program Description

Due to a family emergency, we have to postpone this concert until after the Holidays. We're very sorry. And bummed. This is going to be such an awesome concert when all the dust settles. :-( ____________________________ We are thrilled to once again offer free music at the library. This time we have a duo of flute players. Join Barb O'Brien, principle flutist for the Pittsburgh Opera, the Wheeling Symphony, the Akron Symphony and many others and Julie McGough, 2nd flutist for the Pittsburgh Opera & winner of the Artists International Competition. They will be presenting a variety of classical and modern pieces, as well as some Disney songs for our younger patrons. Please join us for this great opportunity to hear amazing music so close to home. What a great way to ease into the lazy Saturday after Trick or Treating! The listed start time is 11, run time is an hour, but I'd be more than willing to listen to them for much longer than that! While registration is encouraged, this program is open to anybody who wants to drop by and check it out. The entire Children's section usually gets to enjoy these concerts. We hope you pop in! If you're interested in familiarizing yourself with what they'll be playing, the set list includes: Adantina & Allegro by Michelangelo Rossi (17th century) Chanson de la Riviere by Valerie Coleman (21st century) Duet Numbers 9 & 10 by Giulio Briccialdi (19th century) Opus 81 No. 1, Allegro Vivace, Adagio, Rondo by Frederich Kuhlau (19th century) Canonic Duets for Flute No. 1, Vivace, Adagio, Allegro by George Philipp Telemann (17th century) Celtic Suite No. 1, Farewell by Herman Beeftink (20th century) Fine Lines by Nathalie Joachim (21st Century) And don't forget those Disney Tunes!
